Gordo Sr. finally up on the wall.

Here is the big guy on the wall.  Still need to add a few more pieces and do some touch up work. Not nearly as hard as I thought it would be to get on the wall, but not nearly as cool as I had hoped it would turn out.

Oakland Library Piece

This guy was made for a show that my collective, FM, had at one of the Oakland Library branches. It was made to hang on the wall, but looks better sitting on a table.

Dragon Mantis

This guys has been sitting in the kiln room at the jccsf for 3 years waiting for me to finish him. I have no idea why I can't seem to get it done.

How the hell am I going to get this thing on the wall by next week?

Ele-bee

This wonderful drawing was submitted by Mary Johnson at one an art murmur last year. I love the time and effort she put into this drawing, and I welcome her back again to draw in my sketchbook anytime.

I just ordered 18"x12" poster prints of this watercolor and they should be ready by the next art murmur on March 2nd. People really seem to like this one so I figured give them what they want.

Artist Statement

Love. Loss. Regret.
These three emotions inspired all of the pieces that are on this site.
Although I am never sure where my emotions will take me, the human form, whether realistic or abstract, tells a story that is open to interpretation by the viewer. My monsters are apt to be lovable, my creatures whimsical and my torsos missing limbs, but all expose a part of myself I can reveal only in clay and pencil. Perhaps it is my humble attempt to make scary things less frightening and bodies more intriguing, element by element. What I do know for sure is that my art is a work in progress.
It is through my desires that I have always been able to express my true self. It is through my struggles that I have always had the need to create. It is through my remorse that I feel the need to redeem myself. And it is my hope that by doing this, I will find release from some of these emotions.
I would like to thank you all for viewing my blog page. I appreciate feedback and would love to hear your thoughts or questions about my work. If you would like to purchase a copy of my book, you can do so by going to blurb.com and searching for it in their online bookstore.
